SERVICES
Sky Testing offers a full suite of inspection, nondestructive testing, and QA/QC services. Sky Testing is a NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) approved Special Inspection Company as well as an NYC DOB approved agency to qualify steam and gas pipe welders. All services offered can be performed in-house or on site.
Our broad experience includes the following disciplines:

RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING
Radiographic testing, also known as RT or x-ray examination, is suitable for the discovery of internal defects in ferrous or non-ferrous metals.

ULTRASONIC TESTING
Ultrasonic testing or UT can be used to detect surface or internal flaws in any materials that can conduct sound. UT can also be used to ascertain a material's thickness.
We offer UT inspections using straight beam, shear wave, flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), and phased array methods.

EDDY CURRENT TESTING
Eddy current testing is designed to identify surface or subsurface flaws in any electronically conductive material.

ADVANCED DIGITAL ULTRASONICS
We utilize the most current and up to date hardware available on the market today. With advances in computing technology and faster processing power of the software involved, the phased array ultrasonic equipment we utilize is safer, more accurate, and user friendly.

VISUAL TESTING/WELDING INSPECTION
Visual testing is performed by AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) or ASNT Level II technicians. Our welding inspectors can perform progress inspections, final visual inspections, weld mapping, welder qualifications and more.

MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING
Magnetic particle testing or MT is designed to identify and highlight flaws on or near the surface of ferrous materials.
We can perform MT inspections using the yolk or bench methods.

PENETRANT TESTING
Penetrant testing or PT works to identify surface discontinuities in non-ferrous materials.

GROUND PENETRATING RADAR
This geophysical method uses radar pulses to image the subsurface. Our personnel are trained in this nondestructive method using electromagnetic radiation in order to detect the reflected signals from subsurface objects, changes in material properties, and voids and cracks.
